When treating acne skin, it a good idea to try and understand the many causes of acne, the effects of day to day items and food have on your skin and how different acne treatments work. Unfortunately, this is a far ranging topic with very few clear answers.

Acne skin is typically a hereditary trait that is caused by overactive sebaceous glands and is a life long battle to manage. An excessive production of sebum creates larger pores which can become clogged with oil and dirt and lead to acne. Acne skin can often be managed through the use of skin care products that are astringent and don't contain pore clogging ingredients, that target topical congestion and absorb oil. A diet free of angrogen foods, iodine foods, peanut free and dairy free. A proper skin care routine with monthly facials is also extremely beneficial to this skin type.
